You Scored 46% And Came Top? Who Were You Up Against? Cretins?

News just in is that the winner of the Abysswinksback 100th Post “Have Your Say! Win A Prize!” Quiz — with a grand total of 29 points — is the delightful Robin S. Narrowly pipping Fairyhedgehog* at the post, Robin will receive gushing praise in the form of light verse at some stage in not-too-distant future, right here on this blog.

Meanwhile, for anyone led astray by the confounding selection of wrong answers, here are the ten correct ones:

Thanks for playing, one and all.

*I've checked my adding up at least twice, but if I'm wrong on this, I promise to send gravy.

Congratulations to Robin! I can't wait to read the verse of splendour penned in your honour. The comments trail for the comp was a great read too.

Still kicking myself for not being here!

I can't wait to write it.

Congratulations, Robin! It was a close thing but you won.

I'm kicking myself over the cat question. It's pretty obvious that Whirl is oblivious to the sound of his own voice, so I should have done what I did with the other questions and chosen the most outrageous answer. That technique worked well.

Thanks for a lot of fun, Whirl!

Wahoo, Robin! You know your Whirllore. I was slightly worried that Natalie might win with her cheaty weaty 'c' to everything. Everybody knows that the answer is always 'b'.

In the generosity of your giving spirit, and putting aside the fact that I scored really, really badly, your Ode to Robin can be your entire Public Humiliation Challenge wordcount for one day. All koala heart, ain't I.

Hey!!! Thanks so much, Mr. Whirl.
I feel so honored (and I love that robin pic, too).

Can't wait to read my ode - are you gonna do another podbean thing for it as well? Ooooh. Hope so, oh gorgeous-voiced one.

We really are a bunch of dunces.

Congrats to Robin S.! And to Fairyhedgehog, too! (Next time, can I sit next to one of you?)

Yes, yes! Do a podbean then we can all enjoy it.

I don't really fancy being called a cretin after all the effort I put into my answers...

Wait a sec, just imagined being called a cretin in your delightful accent, and I'm actually quite happy with it now.

Congrats, Robin.

Congrats, Robin! I'm sure we'll all be checking Whirl's maths in order to receive gravy, however!

Thanks, you all!

Also, meant to ask, is there gonna be a kilt picture involved? I'm just saying.

Whirlochre said...

At the moment, another kilt picture is looking as likely as a snowstorm on Mercury.

Hang on a minute, what's the weather like on Mercury?

Mercury is also very, very hot, lol.

Whirl, I have awarded you the Kreativ Blogger award. Swing by my blog for details!

Thanks, WW. I'll pick up on this at some the future — along with Robin's verse and all the other things I currently owe people (you know who you are).

I realise we're heading towards Spring at a rate of knots that could flatten out Mr T's hairdo, but for all practical purposes, I'm stuck somewhere around Jan 2nd.

Since it's been in the single digits for a week until today, when we finally rose to almost 20F, I feel like I'm around Jan 2nd as well, Whirl.

I'm just hoping I can get my wireless internet router up and running after I beg my brother's help via phone tonight, lol. Then I'll be cooking with gas!
