Let Festivity Abound

That's the spirit of Christmas for you — dazzles and beguiles you with the brightest of lights for most of December, then sneaks up behind you at the very last minute and whacks you gently on the arse with a sapling of purest tinsel.

Thanks to everyone who's dropped by in 2008. Have a great Christmas and return soon when the larder/cellar/utility mule is bare.

Santa ahoy!

Good heavens, it's CONAN!

No wonder Geoff looks so nervous.

Still, merry Christmas, dear Whirl. I hope Son of Whirl is not too old to be absolutely delighted Christmas morning and that you and Girly of Whirly get in some good snogging under the mistletoe. Preferably in front of Son of Whirl, because then you'll have Son of Whirl hurl!

have a merry Xmas, Whirl. I'm off tomorrow and will be painting my new house. I work the 25th, and that will be a day of resting up.

A coat of paint certainly sounds a better thing for a house to be clad in than embarrassed kid vomit. Maybe I should do that Bangkok hooker ping pong ball trick with the mistletoe berries as I snog, firing a volley of missiles from each tampon-honed nostril and, who knows, maybe winning a coconut to plug my son's gob with.

Merry Christmas!

Rufus sends Geoff his love. I swear those two are plotting something.

Now I'm all hot under the flea collar.

Awwwww! Geoff is a darling!

I'm writing from warm and snuggly Georgia. We'll be back home tomorrow evening. Hope you have had a wonderful week, and took a few pics to share!

Thanks Robin.

On the pics front, it's not been much of a fun time here at Whirl Towers, I'm afraid. Not content with being promised Eartha Kitt and Harold Pinter, the Grim Reaper made off with my Dad over Christmas. So while I've stuffed my face and cracked useless jokes as usual, the tinsel has had a weirdly unreflective sheen to it.

So, I'm likely to be grounded for a while.

Oh, Whirl, that's terrible news! My condolences to you and yours.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Whirl.

I'm so sorry, Whirl.

Oh, Whirl,

I just checked in and read your note about your Dad. I'm so sorry!
I still miss my Dad, not in the sharp pain of the way you must be feeling, but still, missing him, noticing he's not 'here', and he's been dead eight years.

Again, I'm so sorry.

I don't quite know how I missed this post Whirl. I'm so sorry about your Dad. It's a shitty thing at any time of year but somehow crueler at Christmas. When my Mam was heralded off by The Sythed One [many years ago] it was just a few weeks before Chrimbo too. Still there was much drinking and raising of glasses in her memory.

Lots of love to you and yours
